The Islamabad Police have introduced a new online taxi verification app aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers, particularly women, when booking online taxis. The initiative follows directions from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and is part of the Safe City project led by Director General Shakir Hussain Dawar.

The app allows passengers to scan a QR code displayed on the taxi to verify its registration with the Islamabad Police’s taxi verification system. In case of unverified vehicles or emergencies, users can press an emergency button within the app to alert the police for prompt action.

This development is part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety and establish better communication between law enforcement and online taxi services in the federal capital.
