Independence Day Festivities Marred by Aerial Firing in Karachi
During Independence Day celebrations in Karachi, at least two individuals lost their lives, and more than 30 sustained injuries due to indiscriminate aerial firing, according to rescue services personnel.
An eight-year-old girl tragically died in Azizabad after being struck by a stray bullet. Similarly, in Korangi, a man named Stephen also died from a gunshot wound related to the celebratory firing.
Rescue officials have verified that across Karachi, 31 individuals suffered injuries from gunshots resulting from the dangerous practice of celebratory firing.
Authorities have strongly denounced this hazardous behavior and are urging the public to observe Independence Day responsibly and safely.
Law enforcement has commenced investigations and pledged to take strict measures against those found engaging in aerial firing.
