Pakistani Cricketers’ ICC T20I Rankings Update
Following a series of inconsistent displays in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Mirpur, several Pakistani cricketers have seen a decline in the latest ICC T20I rankings. The national team has suffered defeats in the first two matches of the series.
Batting Rankings
Mohammad Haris, the wicketkeeper-batter, has descended 20 places and now holds the 50th position with 514 rating points. Saim Ayub, the opener, has dropped three positions to 64th, while Hassan Nawaz, a top-order batter, experienced a significant fall, plummeting 22 places to 68th. Even prominent batters like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, though not part of the current squad, have each slipped one spot to 13th and 14th, respectively.
In contrast, Fakhar Zaman, who demonstrated batting discipline in the matches against Bangladesh, has ascended eight places to 79th with 426 rating points. Usman Khan, the white-ball captain, struggled with the bat, scoring only nine runs from 23 balls in the second T20I. Consequently, he has fallen 18 places to 93rd with 396 points.
Australia’s Travis Head remains the top-ranked T20I batter, trailed by India’s Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma in second and third place, respectively.
Bowling Rankings
In the bowling rankings, Abbas Afridi, a pacer, has moved down two places to 22nd with 608 rating points, while Haris Rauf has dropped four spots to 24th with 593 points. Shaheen Afridi, a left-arm quick currently not in the T20I squad, has also fallen two positions to 36th with 591 points. Abrar Ahmed, a leg-spinner, has shown improvement, climbing 12 places to 49th with 499 points. Shadab Khan, the vice-captain, has descended four spots, now ranking 65th.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy has maintained his number one position in the T20I bowling rankings, followed by England’s Adil Rashid and India’s Varun Chakaravarthy in second and third place, respectively.
