Fury Plans Boxing Return in 2026
Frank Warren, promoter for former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has shared a significant update regarding the boxer’s potential return to the ring, according to reports on Wednesday.
Fury initially declared his retirement from boxing in January 2025, following his defeat by Oleksandr Usyk, which saw the Ukrainian fighter become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era.
Previously undefeated, Fury secured victories against notable opponents, including Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, and Derek Chisora. He also twice knocked out Deontay Wilder, in addition to their draw in the first match of their trilogy.
Turki Alalshikh, a boxing promoter in Saudi Arabia, announced in early July that Fury is anticipated to emerge from retirement and compete again during Riyadh Season 2026.
Following Alalshikh’s announcement, Fury revealed his plans to return to the ring in April of the following year. The British fighter posted an image on Instagram, stating: “April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.”
While the comeback is still pending final confirmation, Warren, Fury’s promoter, reaffirmed Fury’s intention to return to boxing in 2026.
“I spoke with him recently. He affirmed his intention to make a comeback and compete next year. It’s what he desires,” Warren stated to DAZN.
“This year has been quite eventful for him. Although he hasn’t fought, he has been involved in his documentary. He’s also been filming with Netflix for his ‘At Home with the Furys’ series.
“Additionally, he is completing another documentary, among other projects. He has clearly communicated his desire to fight next year. Therefore, we will meet to discuss the details.”
