Hasan Nawaz Discusses Preparations for Asia Cup 2025 and India Match
Middle-order batsman Hasan Nawaz shared insights into the Pakistan team’s preparations for the upcoming tri-series and the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to take place in the UAE next month.
In a media interaction, Hasan addressed the anticipated match against India during the continental tournament.
“Indeed, it presents a significant challenge,” Hasan noted regarding the high-stakes game.
“While pressure is inherent in every match, our focus remains on enjoying the sport and embracing each contest as a unique challenge. Matches between India and Pakistan are always thrilling, and I eagerly anticipate them. Our preparations have been thoroughly completed.”
The 23-year-old emphasized the significance of understanding match conditions, detailing his batting strategy.
“The conditions in the UAE require a strategic approach rather than simply trying to forcefully hit every delivery. Assessing the game’s dynamics and adapting accordingly is crucial,” he elaborated.
“My current approach involves more than just attempting to hit sixes on every ball; it’s about strategically advancing the match and constructing a match-winning performance.”
Hasan also acknowledged his development as a cricketer, attributing it to the coaching staff’s support.
“I’ve benefited greatly from Mike Hesson’s involvement; his close collaboration has been invaluable, and I continue to learn from him and the other coaches,” he added.
Notably, Hasan made his international debut against New Zealand on March 16 in Christchurch.
During his third appearance, he achieved an impressive unbeaten 105 off just 45 balls, securing a remarkable victory for Pakistan in a 205-run chase. Since then, he has been instrumental in Pakistan’s recent triumphs, demonstrating his ability to excel under pressure.
The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled from September 9 to 28, hosted at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan is set to commence its campaign against Oman on September 12, followed by the highly anticipated match against India on September 14.
