Hasan Aims for Strong Performance in Bangladesh Series
KARACHI: Hasan Nawaz, the dynamic Pakistani batter, acknowledged on Sunday that his sister is the reason he was able to pursue his cricketing dreams and represent Pakistan. He stated that without her unwavering support, playing for Pakistan would not have been a possibility.
In a video message shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Hasan recounted that he initially played cricket in Layyah, where opportunities were limited.
However, following his sister’s guidance, he relocated to Islamabad, and she took on the responsibility of covering all his expenses and providing support.
“Upon arriving in Islamabad, my passion for cricket intensified. I conveyed to my sister the depth of my love for the game, and she suggested that due to limited opportunities in Layyah, I should move to Islamabad.
“She enrolled me in an academy, provided me with the essential gear and kit bag, and ensured my transportation to and from the academy on a daily basis. Therefore, my sister has been instrumental in shaping my cricketing journey,” Hasan explained.
Hasan conveyed his commitment to delivering a notable performance in the forthcoming series against Bangladesh. He also mentioned his efforts to rectify previous errors.
“We are preparing for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. We recently participated in a training camp where I collaborated with coaches to address the mistakes I made during the PSL and against New Zealand. Our objective is to secure victory in this series as well,” he added.
He described his century against New Zealand as the most unforgettable moment of his career, stating that it will forever hold a special place as his finest innings.
“Achieving a century against New Zealand will always be a cherished memory, as it marked my first century and set a record. It is an accomplishment I will forever remember,” he concluded.
