Journalist Found Dead in Sanghar

SANGHAR: Khawar Hussain, a young journalist working for a private television channel, was discovered deceased in his automobile on Saturday. Police authorities reported that he had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Abid Baloch, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Sanghar, informed the press that preliminary investigations indicate the journalist’s body was found in a vehicle parked near a restaurant along Hyderabad Road.

Baloch stated that Hussain, originally from Sanghar but residing in Karachi, apparently took his own life, though he did not elaborate on the basis for this conclusion.

First responders indicated that Hussain was found slumped in the driver’s seat, with a handgun in his hand and an apparent self-inflicted head injury. Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene, while law enforcement cordoned off the area to begin an investigation.

The journalist had been based in Karachi for approximately a decade, during which he was employed by various media outlets.

This unfortunate event immediately prompted a response from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who instructed the provincial police chief to provide a report as soon as possible.

Shah directed the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon to assign the most qualified investigators to the case and to exhaust all possible avenues of inquiry.

He also expressed his condolences to Hussain’s family, offered prayers for their strength, and ordered the local government to provide them with assistance.
