Pakistani Cricketers Granted NOCs for Guyana Super League

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to four cricketers, allowing them to participate in the Guyana Global Super League, scheduled from July 10th to 18th.

Mohammad Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay, Saud Shakeel, and Sahibzada Farhan have been enlisted by different franchises to play in the T20 league.

According to the team rosters, Saud Shakeel will be a part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Nawaz and Farhan will represent the Hobart Hurricanes.

Khawaja Nafay has also been granted an NOC for the tournament, though his team affiliation is yet to be revealed.

To date, the PCB has formally provided NOCs for Nawaz and Nafay. Saud and Farhan are awaiting formal authorization from the board.

In related news, the Sydney Sixers have announced the acquisition of Babar Azam, the prominent Pakistani batter and former captain, for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) season 15.

Considered a premier batter in modern cricket, Babar Azam brings his renowned elegance, consistency, and vast experience to the Sixers lineup this season.

With over 10,000 runs in international cricket across all formats, the 30-year-old has cemented his place as one of the game’s most reliable and prolific performers.

BBL rules permit each team to sign one international player before the official BBL 15 Draft, set for Thursday, June 19.

Cricket Australia (CA) has released the initial list of international players for the BBL 15 Draft, featuring Pakistani players Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Rizwan.

Joining the Pakistani players on the initial 10-player draft list are England’s Sam Curran and Alex Hales, New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera, and West Indies’ Shamar Joseph.

The draft is scheduled for June 19, with the Brisbane Heat holding the first selection.
