Imad Wasim Joins Glamorgan for T20 Blast

Glamorgan has enlisted Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim to replace the injured Australian cricketer Hayden Kerr for the remainder of the 2025 T20 Blast season.

Kerr’s injury, sustained during a home game against Surrey, has cut short his time with the team. The Welsh club swiftly secured Imad, a well-known figure in the global T20 arena, as a replacement.

Born in Swansea, Imad is returning to familiar surroundings. He has played 130 international games for Pakistan and almost 400 professional T20 matches across the globe. He also previously played for Trent Rockets in The Hundred.

Glamorgan’s Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, commented on Kerr’s unfortunate injury and expressed enthusiasm for Imad’s arrival.

“It’s truly disappointing that Hayden’s injury is more serious than initially thought. He integrated seamlessly into the team, and we hope to have him back in a Glamorgan jersey in the future, once he’s fully recovered.”

“Securing someone with Imad’s level of experience and skill at such short notice is excellent. He provides us with versatile bowling options and another left-handed batting choice in the middle order. We are eager to welcome him back to Wales.”

Notably, the all-rounder made his first appearance in the campaign against Sussex in Cardiff on Saturday.

Despite Glamorgan’s 27-run loss, the 35-year-old made contributions with both the bat and the ball, securing a single wicket in his four overs and scoring 8 runs from 8 balls.
