LAKKI MARWAT:
A significant gas pipeline supplying Punjab was targeted in an explosion in the Lakki Marwat district, resulting in severe disruption to the region’s gas supply. The attack took place late Monday night, raising serious concerns over infrastructure security in the area.

According to initial reports, unidentified assailants planted explosives near the main transmission line, causing a powerful blast that damaged a key section of the pipeline. The explosion halted the flow of gas to multiple cities in Punjab, affecting both residential and industrial consumers.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) officials confirmed the incident and stated that emergency repair teams have been dispatched to the site. Efforts are underway to restore the supply as soon as possible, though the damage assessment may take several hours.

Local law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities suspect sabotage and have increased security around critical gas infrastructure to prevent further attacks.

The sudden disruption has already begun to impact daily life, with many areas reporting low gas pressure or complete outages. Authorities are urging residents to conserve gas usage until normal supply is restored.

This incident adds to growing concerns about the vulnerability of Pakistan’s energy supply network and the need for stronger protective measures in volatile regions.
