A deadly explosion occurred in Multan near the Industrial Estate when a gas container caught fire, leading to the loss of five lives and leaving 39 others severely injured. The blast was so powerful that it was heard in surrounding areas, causing widespread panic and damage. Rescue operations were immediately launched to control the fire and assist the injured.

According to rescue sources, the explosion at the gas container in the vicinity of Sher Shah shook nearby homes, with debris from the blast falling on residential buildings. Several people were reported injured as the force of the explosion impacted the local community.

The City Police Officer (CPO) of Multan, Sadiq Ali, confirmed that the explosion caused significant destruction, with several homes severely damaged and livestock perishing in the blast. The emergency response involved 18 rescue vehicles, and fire trucks from nearby districts such as Muzaffargarh and Khanewal were also called in to control the fire.

In addition, a remote-controlled bomb explosion targeted a passenger bus traveling towards Rawalpindi in Khuzdar, killing one person and injuring several others, further complicating the emergency situation in the region.

Multan’s commissioner reported that all individuals in the affected Fahad Town area were successfully rescued, and the bodies of the deceased, as well as the injured, were immediately transferred to Nishter Hospital. Out of the 39 injured, 13 were reported to be in critical condition.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has issued directives for the best possible medical care for those injured. He confirmed that 39 individuals were wounded, and five people were confirmed dead. Among the injured, one patient has been discharged, while four were moved to the pediatric department at Nishter Hospital. Additionally, 29 burn victims were transferred to the Pakistan Italian Burn Centre in Multan for specialized treatment.

This tragic event has raised concerns about industrial safety, emergency preparedness, and the need for better infrastructure to deal with such large-scale accidents. Authorities are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the explosion, and efforts are underway to ensure that those affected receive adequate care and support.
