Pakistan Rejects Indian PM’s Provocative Assertions

The Foreign Office (FO) has firmly dismissed the provocative and inflammatory statements made by the Indian Prime Minister in a recent address. According to the FO, the Indian PM’s remarks are a reflection of a tendency to create misleading narratives intended to excuse acts of aggression.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that the Indian statement indicates a dangerous escalation founded on disinformation, political exploitation, and a clear breach of international law, particularly as international efforts are focused on fostering regional peace and stability.

Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to upholding the existing ceasefire agreement and taking the required steps to promote de-escalation and stability within the region.

According to the spokesperson, the ceasefire was made possible by the mediation of several friendly nations that contacted Pakistan with a message encouraging de-escalation. He further dismissed the idea that Pakistan was seeking a ceasefire due to “despair and frustration” as a blatant falsehood.

The FO also contended that the attack in Pahalgam was being used, without any solid evidence, to defame Pakistan, justify military adventurism by fabricating a cause for war, advance domestic political goals, divert attention away from growing communal tensions and human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and bolster a fabricated narrative of an ongoing external threat.

Khan noted that despite Pakistan’s restraint after India’s illegal and unprovoked aggression against Pakistani civilians under false pretenses of terrorism, India recklessly escalated the situation by targeting Pakistani military bases, thereby risking an uncontrollable escalation.

“Indian actions set a dangerous precedent for aggression, dragging the entire region to the brink of disaster. This reflects the mindset of a revisionist actor that seeks to upend strategic stability in South Asia without regard for consequences.

The spokesperson added that India is attempting to normalize the cold-blooded killings of innocent civilians, predominantly women and children, and its irresponsible brinkmanship.

“Pakistan totally rejects this assertion,” he declared.

The spokesperson asserted that the standard remains that the principles and goals of the UN Charter cannot be challenged, as Pakistan has consistently shown in its steadfast defense of its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its people.

“Make no mistake, we will closely monitor India’s actions and behaviour in this regard in the coming days,” the FO spokesperson cautioned, urging the international community to do the same.

The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression was carefully considered and targeted military installations, in accordance with its right to self-defense.

“Pakistan proved its strength against Indian military capability and targets. It is now an indisputable and well-known fact which cannot be denied by misinformation and propaganda,” he added.

The diplomat pointed out that India’s unlawful and unilateral actions are also evident in its blatant disregard for the sanctity of binding agreements, such as the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), which has governed shared water resources for decades.

The FO spokesperson warned that Pakistan would pursue all available options to safeguard its rights under the treaty.

“Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, being directly sponsored by India,” he stated, noting the extensive suffering caused by this menace. He further stated that their contributions and sacrifices in the global struggle against terrorism are widely recognized, adding that Pakistan has consistently advocated for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the desires of the Kashmiri people.

Islamabad reaffirmed its support for efforts aimed at resolving this conflict, which continues to be a source of instability in South Asia.

“In this era, peace is the true strength. The world is not served by theatrical militarism and grandstanding but by mature leadership, regional cooperation, and respect for international norms,” he concluded.

He asserted that Pakistan is a sovereign state with strong institutions, a dedicated populace, and a globally recognized role in promoting peace and security, cautioning against mistaking their dedication to peace for weakness.

The spokesperson warned that any future aggression would be met with unwavering resolve, expressing the hope that India would prioritize regional stability and the welfare of its citizens over narrow, politically driven jingoism.
