Fertilizer Availability Discussed Between Minister and FFCL CEO

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, convened a meeting on Friday with Fauji Fertiliser Company Limited (FFCL) Chief Executive Officer, Jahangir Piracha. The discussion focused on the accessibility, cost, and distribution of fertilizers in anticipation of the approaching planting seasons.

According to a statement, the minister emphasized the government’s dedication to guaranteeing a consistent supply of fertilizer at equitable prices, especially for agriculturalists in distant regions, all while upholding stringent quality benchmarks.

Preventing Supply Disruptions

He urged FFCL to implement safeguards against hoarding and illicit trading, highlighting that any interruption in the supply chain could negatively impact crop production and overall food stability.

Agriculture as Pakistan’s Backbone

Hussain stated that agriculture forms the base of Pakistan’s financial system. He also stressed the significance of reinforcing the supply network, enhancing local output, and investigating regulatory changes to render the fertilizer industry more effective and beneficial for farmers.

Piracha assured the minister of FFCL’s complete support for governmental strategies and reaffirmed the organization’s pledge to fulfilling the requirements of farmers promptly and economically.

Both parties concurred to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors to foster enduring agricultural advancement and boost farmer earnings.
