Rising Concerns Over Road Safety

This recent series of road accidents has intensified concerns regarding traffic management and the oversight of heavy vehicles operating within Karachi.

The city has experienced a notable increase in deadly incidents involving buses, trucks, and dump trucks throughout the current year.

These recurring tragedies have sparked widespread public discontent, often resulting in immediate demonstrations and acts of arson. Earlier in the month, dumper trucks were torched in North Karachi following an incident where one such vehicle fatally struck two motorcyclists.

On April 13, a similar outburst occurred in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where a vehicle involved in a fatal collision was set on fire by an agitated crowd. Law enforcement subsequently apprehended the driver and several other individuals for arson and associated offenses.
