Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Deputy Emir, Liaqat Baloch, has raised concerns over the rising costs of electricity, gas, and fuel, calling them unbearable for the average citizen. In a recent statement, he criticized the proposal to privatize Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), suggesting that the organization should instead be restored on a professional basis.
Baloch stressed that restoring trust among overseas Pakistanis would significantly boost economic development. He also warned against “remote-controlled” negotiations, which he argued would only exacerbate existing economic and administrative challenges.
The escalating prices, coupled with growing economic instability, have left citizens struggling to meet basic needs. Liaqat Baloch’s remarks underline the urgent need for policy reforms to ensure affordability and economic stability in Pakistan
