E-Commerce Policy 2.0 and Taxation Discussed in High-Level Meeting
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja convened a high-level meeting to deliberate on crucial issues within Pakistan’s rapidly growing E-Commerce sector.
According to a formal announcement, Minister Kamal Khan, adhering to the consultative nature of the upcoming policy, declared the establishment of a joint working group. This group, incorporating input from the IT Ministry, will be tasked with compiling thorough recommendations regarding taxation, vendor compliance, and digital payment methods. The group’s conclusions will then be formally presented to the Prime Minister for assessment.
Minister Kamal also verified that E-Commerce Policy 2.0 has reached the concluding phases of its internal evaluation and will soon be put forward for cabinet endorsement.
