Eid Celebrations Unite Pakistani and Indian Workers in Dubai

Hundreds of workers from Pakistan and India celebrated Eid ul Adha together in Dubai at a significant event. Attendees had the opportunity to win luxury vehicles, gold, monetary rewards, and complimentary return travel tickets, showcasing Dubai’s inclusive spirit and reputation for grandeur.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), a prominent governmental body in Dubai, hosted the gathering under the banner of “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together.” The event recognized the essential contributions of the blue-collar workforce to Dubai’s swift growth.

Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Assistant Director General of Dubai’s GDRFA, remarked, “This celebration is a recognition of the dedicated laborers whose efforts fuel Dubai’s progress. Our goal is to show our appreciation and offer them a memorable and inclusive Eid experience.”

The celebration, which took place in the Al Quoz district, attracted over 42,000 workers from various countries, including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Workers relished a diverse range of Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, and Hindi songs amidst lively performances, infusing the festivities with palpable energy. Pakistani tunes and Bollywood rhythms fostered a lively environment, uniting participants in a spirit of unity.

Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat also enhanced the event with a special guest appearance.

The workers showed their excitement through dancing and cheering, adding to the celebratory atmosphere, boosted by cultural performances, prizes totaling AED500,000, and customary Eid gifts.

Officials from the Dubai government stated that this initiative demonstrates the Emirate’s dedication to cultivating a sense of community and gratitude among its international workforce.
