Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Arrives in Islamabad for Official Visit

Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, commenced a two-day official visit to Islamabad on Monday.

The Foreign Office representative stated that the Kazakh DPM was welcomed at the airport by Additional Secretary West Asia, Syed Ali Asad Gillani, along with other high-ranking government officials.

An earlier press release from FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan indicated that the DPM is accompanied by a substantial 13-member delegation, including the Minister of Transport.

Meetings of the Joint Working Groups focusing on Agriculture and Information Technology are scheduled to occur concurrently with the visit.

During his stay, DPM Nurtleu is slated to have a private meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, which will be followed by discussions at the delegation level.

Nurtleu is also anticipated to pay visits to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

These dialogues will serve as an opportunity to assess the progress made in preparations for the forthcoming Presidential visit and to comprehensively explore the breadth of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Key areas of focus will include trade and investment, agriculture, education, cultural and tourism exchanges, regional connectivity and logistics, as well as collaboration within multilateral forums.

The FO spokesperson added, “The visit of Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will further reinforce the enduring ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, contributing to the enhancement of bilateral engagements across diverse sectors, for the mutual benefit of both nations.”
