Pakistan Open to Comprehensive Dialogue with India, Including Kashmir

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated on Friday that Pakistan is prepared to enter into extensive discussions with India, addressing all pertinent issues, notably the longstanding Kashmir matter.

“Pakistan stands ready for comprehensive talks with India,” Ishaq Dar told reporters at Parliament House. His statement comes after a period of heightened tensions between the two countries.

In remarks to the press, DPM Dar noted that the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) with New Delhi is being maintained. He reiterated that the initial request for de-escalation came from the Indian side through the United States.

“I received a communication from the United States regarding a ceasefire,” Dar stated, emphasizing that Pakistan has consistently opposed conflict.

Dar, who also serves as the foreign minister, mentioned that while Pakistan did not seek external mediation for initiating talks with India, there were suggestions for holding discussions at a neutral location.

He clarified, however, that Pakistan will not engage in discussions centered on a single issue. “Any dialogue with India must encompass all unresolved matters, including Kashmir,” Dar emphasized.

Furthermore, FM Ishaq Dar confirmed that there is no scheduled visit to Pakistan by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at this time.
