ISPR DG Denies Capture of Indian Pilot
Rawalpindi: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has officially stated that Pakistani forces did not apprehend any Indian pilot during the recent confrontations with India.
Social media platforms have been flooded with speculation and various videos since Pakistan’s response to actions from India, alleging that an Indian female pilot named Shivangi Singh was taken into custody in Pakistan after her aircraft was hit.
During a media briefing on Sunday, the military spokesperson addressed inquiries regarding the alleged capture and potential repatriation of an Indian pilot.
“I can confirm unequivocally that we do not have any pilot in our custody. These claims are merely social media rumors and part of the misinformation and propaganda originating from multiple sources,” he clarified.
The Indian government has also dismissed these social media assertions as false, advising the public to disregard the misinformation.
In response to another question concerning the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) statement that operations were ongoing despite India’s agreement to a ceasefire, the ISPR DG affirmed that Pakistani armed forces remain vigilant and prepared to respond to any aggression.
“We have demonstrated this capability on the ground on numerous occasions,” he added.
