Pakistan Condemns Israeli Actions Against Iran

Senator Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, has voiced strong condemnation of Israeli aggression directed towards Iran, while also conveying his complete support for the Iranian government and its people.

During a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, the foreign minister shared Pakistan’s apprehensions and sympathies regarding the situation.

The Foreign Office reported that Dar firmly denounced the Israeli attacks, emphasizing that they constitute a breach of the United Nations Charter and contravene established international legal principles. He also expressed profound grief over the loss of life resulting from these attacks.

This condemnation follows an initial Israeli bombing operation targeting Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists, which quickly escalated into a significant conflict. Both nations have reportedly exchanged considerable blows, leading to increased instability in the region.

Reports indicate that the Israeli strikes on Thursday resulted in the deaths of 20 high-ranking military officials, including General Mohammad Baqeri, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran; Major General Hossein Salami, Chief of the Revolutionary Guards; and Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Head of Aerospace. Additionally, five nuclear scientists were also killed.

The Israeli strikes were focused on Iran’s ballistic missile systems and nuclear facilities, which caused 78 deaths and left over 300 individuals wounded.

Iranian air defenses sustained substantial damage, whereas initial reports suggest that Israel experienced minimal losses with no immediate major retaliatory actions during the initial phase.

However, the situation took a turn on Friday night when Iran launched a series of missile strikes targeting Israel. Reports indicate that this counterattack overwhelmed Israel’s Iron Dome defense system.

Dar restated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran’s pursuit of regional peace and stability and affirmed complete solidarity with the government and the people of Iran following these recent strikes, according to the Foreign Office.

Earlier on Friday, Dar communicated his condemnation of the “unjustified” Israeli attacks on Iran via social media, labeling it as a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty.

In his statement on X, the DPM asserted that this reprehensible action has severely undermined the foundations of international law and offended the global community’s sense of justice.

He further added that the Israeli strikes have significantly jeopardized regional stability and international security.
