Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Exit with Cryptic Post
Al Nassr is eager to retain Cristiano Ronaldo, but securing the Portuguese star’s commitment is proving challenging, according to sporting director Fernando Hierro on Thursday.
Following the Saudi Pro League’s conclusion and a loss in his final game, Ronaldo’s future with Al Nassr was cast into doubt by a puzzling message on social media.
Ronaldo shared an image of himself in his Al Nassr jersey on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a cryptic statement.
“This chapter is over,” it read.
“The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
Hierro mentioned in a press briefing on Thursday that the team is in discussions with Ronaldo and expects to achieve a resolution shortly.
“Ronaldo’s agreement with Al Nassr lasts till June 30. We will strive to extend his agreement so that he stays with us, but many clubs are interested in signing him,” Hierro stated.
“We are in discussions with Cristiano Ronaldo about renewing his agreement. With divine assistance, we will discover a solution,” he added.
Hierro acknowledged the considerable impact of the 40-year-old Portuguese player on the advancement of soccer in Saudi Arabia, noting that prominent players have been encouraged to join the league since his arrival.
“Ronaldo’s presence from the start is a national endeavor. Cristiano has introduced soccer in this nation to the globe,” Hierro commented.
“It’s incredible that he showed the bravery to come here, remain here, and showcase the Saudi Arabian league to the world. It’s a remarkable achievement.
“Since he arrived, top-tier players have been joining. He unlocked every opportunity. Consequently, the leaders are performing exceptionally. They are pushing forward. We are in contact to extend his agreement and hope he stays with us.”
