Widespread Rain Forecasted Across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted extensive rain-wind/thundershower activity throughout the nation on Tuesday. Isolated areas, particularly in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeastern Balochistan, and Islamabad, may experience heavy downpours.

Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued

The PMD has cautioned about the possibility of very heavy rainfall between July 7-8. This intense rainfall could lead to flash floods in local streams and nullahs within Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab, and sections of Balochistan encompassing Barkhan, Kohlu, Musa Khel, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, and adjacent areas.

Potential Landslides and Urban Flooding

Landslides and mudslides could potentially impede road access in vulnerable mountainous terrains of KP, Murree, Galliyat, and Kashmir during this period of intense rainfall. Furthermore, urban flooding is anticipated in low-lying regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar. Authorities have advised citizens to take necessary safety precautions.
