Robbery Turns Deadly: Teenager and Suspect Killed in Karachi Shootout
In a tragic incident in Karachi’s Orangi Town, a 14-year-old boy and a suspected robber lost their lives during a shootout between robbers and a local resident on Wednesday night. The young victim has been identified as Hussain.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred within the Pakistan Bazaar police station’s jurisdiction. Initial reports suggest that two individuals on a motorcycle attempted to commit a street robbery. A resident, Shahenshah Hasan, intervened, using his licensed firearm to engage the suspects.
During the exchange of fire, one of the alleged robbers was killed instantly, while the other managed to escape with injuries. Tragically, young Hussain, the son of a man named Ali, was caught in the crossfire and fatally wounded.
Investigation and Aftermath
Authorities have recovered a firearm and ammunition from the deceased suspect. The resident’s licensed weapon has also been taken into custody for forensic examination. Law enforcement is actively working to identify the escaped suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s maternal uncle recounted to the media that the robbers tried to snatch Hussain’s mobile phone. When Hussain attempted to stop the robber from fleeing, he was shot multiple times.
Despite being rushed to a nearby private hospital, Hussain was pronounced dead en route, succumbing to his injuries. He was one of four siblings and was not only a Hafiz-e-Quran but also pursuing religious studies to become an aalim.
The bereaved family is pleading with the government to ensure justice. Hussain’s brother echoed this sentiment, demanding accountability for his younger brother’s death. The community is reeling from the shock and grief caused by this unfortunate event. As of now, police have not released further details regarding their investigation into the robbery and the subsequent shooting.
In a separate incident, a 50-year-old man, Irfan, who sustained injuries while resisting a robbery attempt on Tuesday in Korangi, passed away at a medical facility on Wednesday. He was targeted near Noor-ul-Islam Masjid when armed motorcycle riders opened fire. Irfan was admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but died during treatment.
The Zaman Town SHO stated that the case, initially registered as attempted murder, will now be amended to include murder charges following Irfan’s death. Police are employing technical resources to locate the suspects. The number of citizens killed in Karachi due to shootings during robberies in 2025 has reached 33.
