Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari secured another four-year term as he was re-elected to his position during the party’s intra-party elections held on Saturday. The PPP was founded by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
According to an official announcement from the PPP, the elections were conducted at the party’s Central Secretariat located in Islamabad, where Bilawal successfully retained his role as chairman.
In addition to Bilawal’s re-election, other significant positions within the party were also filled. Humayun Khan was chosen as the secretary-general, Nadeem Afzal Chan will serve as the secretary of information, and Aamna Piracha has been appointed as the secretary of finance.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his sincere congratulations to Bilawal on his re-election as the chairman of the PPP. In his congratulatory message, he also extended his best wishes to Humayun Khan, Nadeem Afzal, among others. The Prime Minister expressed his hopes for the success of the newly elected leadership of the PPP.
He remarked that the PPP, guided by Bilawal’s young leadership, would continue its vital role in the country’s development and advancement by representing the desires of the populace.
Bilawal was previously elected as the PPP chairman without opposition during the intra-party elections in 2021. Fauzia Habib, the election commissioner for the intra-party elections, had declared the results.
