Bangladesh to Host West Indies for White-Ball Series in October
Bangladesh is preparing to welcome the West Indies for a white-ball series in October. The tour will consist of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will host the ODI matches on October 18, 20, and 23. Following the ODIs, the T20I series will take place in Chattogram on October 26, 28, and 31.
The last time these two teams played an ODI series in Bangladesh was in early 2021, where the home side won all three matches. Their most recent T20I series in Bangladesh occurred in 2018, with the West Indies winning the series 2-1.
This upcoming T20I series is particularly significant as both squads gear up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The two nations last competed in December 2024, when Bangladesh toured the Caribbean. In that series, Bangladesh achieved a 3-0 victory in the T20Is, while the West Indies responded by winning the ODI series by the same margin.
Currently, the West Indies are participating in a three-match T20I series against Nepal in the UAE. Nepal currently leads that series 1-0.
Bangladesh recently participated in the Asia Cup, reaching the Super Four stage. Before hosting the West Indies, they will play Afghanistan in a white-ball series from October 2 to 14.
