India’s Tour of Bangladesh Rescheduled for 2026
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that India’s tour of Bangladesh, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is, will be moved to September 2026.
The decision to postpone the six-match white-ball series came after discussions between the BCCI and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Both boards cited the need to manage international cricket commitments and ensure convenient scheduling as reasons for the deferment.
According to the released statement, the white-ball series is now set to take place in September of next year. The BCCI mentioned that the updated schedule will be shared subsequently.
The BCCI stated, “The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have jointly decided to postpone the white-ball series, including three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, initially planned for August 2025, to September 2026.”
“This conclusion was reached after deliberations between the two governing bodies, considering the international cricketing obligations and scheduling logistics for both national teams.”
“The BCB eagerly anticipates hosting India in September 2026 for this highly anticipated series. The revised dates and specifics of the tour will be communicated in due course.”
The series, now subject to postponement, was initially planned for the latter part of August. The ODIs were scheduled for August 17, 20, and 23, with the T20Is following on August 26, 29, and 31.
Mirpur and Chattogram were designated as the host cities for the six matches. The postponement could potentially allow prominent Indian players to participate in the Duleep Trophy, marking the commencement of India’s domestic cricket season in August.
