Bangladesh Cricket Team Arrives in Pakistan for T20I Series

LAHORE: The Bangladesh cricket team’s arrival in Pakistan is ongoing in preparation for the forthcoming three-match T20I series against the home side. Four additional players touched down in Lahore shortly after midnight on Monday.

The most recent players to arrive are Tanzid Hasan, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

They represent the second wave of the team’s scheduled arrival.

The rest of the Bangladesh team members are anticipated to arrive in Lahore on Tuesday morning.

Previously, on Sunday, the first group consisting of 10 members of the Bangladesh contingent landed in Lahore. This initial group included players such as Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Originally, the Bangladesh team was expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 21 in two groups for what was planned as a five-match T20I series, with the initial match set for May 25 in Faisalabad.

However, due to logistical complications and shifting security assessments, the tour has been adjusted to a three-match series.

The modification of the schedule was agreed upon after a constructive discussion between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials, notably BCB chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.

Both cricket boards came to a consensus to proceed with the series according to the revised plan.

As per the updated schedule, all three T20Is are now slated to take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 28, May 30, and June 1.
