Bangladesh Announces Preliminary Squad for Asia Cup 2025 and T20I Series Against Netherlands

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed its 25-member preliminary team in preparation for the Asia Cup 2025 and a series of three T20Is against the Netherlands later this month.

A significant highlight is the return of wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan to the fold. Meanwhile, all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain remains excluded, despite his consistent displays in domestic cricket. His omission extends to the Bangladesh A team’s forthcoming tour.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has secured his place in the preliminary squad for the Asia Cup, even after experiencing a dip in form during recent T20I matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Nurul Hasan, alongside Mahidul Islam, Saif Hassan, Hasan Mahmud, and Naim Sheikh, is slated to miss the majority of the preparatory camp as they are scheduled to participate in the Top End T20 Series 2025 in Darwin, Australia.

The group is scheduled to depart on August 9 and will also engage in a four-day match against South Australia subsequent to the tournament. This will be Bangladesh’s second appearance in the Top End T20 Series, following their first showing in 2024.

In an official statement, the BCB mentioned that players available will assemble for a fitness camp at SBNCS, Mirpur, starting August 6. Skill training is set to commence at SBNCS from August 15, after which the camp will relocate to Sylhet on August 20.

The Netherlands squad is anticipated to arrive on August 26. The three T20Is are scheduled to be held in Sylhet on August 30, September 1, and September 3. The Dutch team will depart on September 4.
