Babar Azam Achieves Milestone in World Test Championship

LAHORE: During the first Test match against South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, Pakistani batsman Babar Azam accomplished a significant feat in the World Test Championship (WTC).

Before the game, Azam needed just two runs to reach 3,000 runs in WTC history. He became the first Pakistani and eighth overall player to reach this notable milestone.

The right-handed batsman achieved this feat in his 37th Test match, which includes 18 half-centuries and eight centuries in the Championship thus far.

In addition to Azam, the list of players with over 3,000 runs in the WTC features three English batsmen: Zak Crawley (3,041), Ben Stokes (3,616), and Joe Root (6,080). Root currently holds the record for the most runs scored in WTC history.

The exclusive list also includes four Australian stars: Steve Smith (4,278), Marnus Labuschagne (4,225), Travis Head (3,300), and Usman Khawaja (3,288).
