Action Planned Against Militants in Bajaur and Khyber
Government sources revealed Tuesday that authorities have resolved to launch operations targeting terrorists located in the Bajaur and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This decision follows unsuccessful negotiations between militants and the Bajaur Amn Jirga, according to sources.
The tribal elders presented three primary demands during the discussions, notably the removal of militants from the tribal region.
Official sources indicate an estimated 300 terrorists are situated in two areas within Tehsil Mamund of Bajaur, with over 350 more present in the Khyber district.
Tehsil Mamund has a population exceeding 300,000, and sources report that more than 40,000 residents have been displaced to other regions from Bajaur.
According to official information, foreign nationals, primarily from Afghanistan, comprise over 80% of the terrorists in Khyber and Bajaur.
This is a developing story; more details will be added as they become available.
