Finance Minister Engages with IFC Leadership on Economic Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, convened a meeting with Hela Cheikhrouhou, the International Finance Corporation’s Regional Vice President, and her team to discuss potential collaborations.

Both parties explored avenues for cooperation focusing on reforms in the private sector, energy transition initiatives, stable municipal finance, and expansion of employment opportunities.

The discussions also included a review of the advancement of Diversified Payment Rights (DPR).

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the IFC’s pivotal role in securing $2.5 billion in debt financing for the Reko Diq Copper & Gold Mine Project situated in Balochistan.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of ensuring that the local community benefits from the advantages offered by the project.
