Asia Cup 2025 Match Timings Revised
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has declared modifications to the schedule of the Asia Cup 2025 matches, with weather conditions and spectator convenience cited as the main motivations. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will be contested in the T20I format, beginning on September 9.
As per the ACC, the matches will now commence at 6:30 PM UAE time, equating to 7:30 PM Pakistan time. This marks a deviation from the initial plan, which slated games to begin at 6:00 PM local time.
September 15 will see two matches played. The initial contest between the UAE and Oman in Abu Dhabi is arranged for 4:30 PM local time. The second match, showcasing Sri Lanka versus Hong Kong in Dubai, will kick off at 6:30 PM local time.
The ACC has communicated that the updated timings are intended to provide better conditions for players and supporters, particularly in consideration of potential weather interruptions.
Organizers also emphasized that the adjustment will offer greater ease for viewers to follow multiple matches on a single day.
The men’s Asia Cup 15th edition will be played in the T20I format, including eight teams: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, and Hong Kong, distributed into two groups.
Group A includes rivals Pakistan and India, together with hosts UAE and Oman. Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
The eight-team event will commence on September 9, with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
