Government Issues Travel Advisory for Iran
Due to recent Israeli offensives, the government has advised citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran for a specified duration.
In a statement intended for public awareness, the government communicated that it is carefully observing the evolving circumstances and is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of its citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stated that, in accordance with the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the essential steps have been taken to facilitate the secure repatriation of Pakistani citizens currently residing in Iran.
Reports indicate that on Friday, Israel launched a series of missile strikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military installations. This resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking officials and instigated a retaliatory response from Iran, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel’s actions against Iran would persist for a determined period, citing intelligence suggesting Tehran was nearing a critical point in its nuclear ambitions.
Reports indicate that the Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of nine Iranian nuclear scientists, top military commanders, and members of the Revolutionary Guards, totaling 215 casualties. Additionally, Iran’s air defense systems reportedly sustained substantial damage.
Since the attacks, Iran has launched multiple missile strikes on Israeli cities. However, only a limited number of these missiles reached their targets, resulting in approximately 10 fatalities.
