PFF Delegation Visits AFC Headquarters to Discuss Football Advancement
KUALA LUMPUR: A distinguished delegation representing the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), spearheaded by President Syed Mohsen Gilani, engaged with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Headquarters situated in Kuala Lumpur. The purpose was to deliberate on strategies for the further development of football within Pakistan.
The discussions revolved around upgrading football facilities and encouraging sustained collaboration. The AFC has pledged its ongoing backing to bolster the sport’s expansion throughout the nation.
The PFF delegation comprised Vice President Zaka Ullah, Acting General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar, along with Director of International Relations & Development Omair Ullah Khan.
The AFC’s representation was led by General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John, accompanied by other high-ranking officials including Deputy General Secretary Shin Man Gil, Director of Finance, HR & IT B. Chandra Mohan, Director of Legal Affairs Andrew Mercer, Director of the Commercial Department Andrew Rogers, Head of Football Development Jose Marcelino Z. Carpio, and Senior Manager of the South Asia Unit, MA Division, Sonam Jigmi.
The presence of these key individuals underscored the meeting’s importance, as critical elements of football development were addressed, such as governance, technical advancements, and optimal administrative practices.
During the event, Gilani emphasized the visit’s value and the backing secured from the AFC.
Statement by Syed Mohsen Gilani:
“This visit highlights the comprehensive support from the AFC, guided by the vision of its President, His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, aimed at advancing football in Pakistan,” Gilani stated.
He also stressed the importance of guidance from AFC Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor John, noting that his leadership remains vital for the effective operation of the PFF administration. “We highly appreciate the guidance of AFC GS Datuk Seri Windsor John, whose leadership is integral to the seamless operation of the PFF administration,” he concluded.
