Anti-Corruption Unit Uncovers Significant Assets from Government Official
LAHORE: As part of an active investigation into alleged corruption and abuse of power, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has taken possession of substantial assets belonging to a high-ranking government officer.
The ACE confiscated considerable assets from Muhammad Iqbal, the son of Ahmed Masood, who is currently serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) in Sialkot.
A local court has extended Iqbal’s physical remand by four days to facilitate further inquiries related to the case.
An ACE representative stated that the court had previously granted a four-day physical remand. FIR No 46/2025 was filed on July 31, 2025, under Sections 161 and 162 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The suspect was taken into custody on August 1, 2025, and initially remanded for five days.
Investigators on August 2 seized a Land Cruiser (ARE-054) from the accused, allegedly acquired from a complainant for personal use. Subsequent recoveries on August 6 included a Rolex wristwatch, cash believed to be bribe money, and original documentation for two commercial properties (39 and 40, CA area).
Authorities also impounded Rs6.825 million, allegedly intended for the purchase of a residence in DHA, and Rs49.15 million suspected of being linked to corrupt activities.
An ACE official stated that some assets have been recovered, but further investigation is needed to locate the remaining assets. The accused was presented in court, and an extension of his physical remand was requested to finalize the inquiry.
