ACCA Hosts SSO Industry Leaders Dinner in Karachi
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) recently organized an exclusive Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO) Industry Leaders Appreciation and Engagement Dinner in Karachi.
The event coincided with the official visit of ACCA’s Global Chief Executive, Helen Brand OBE, to Pakistan. The purpose was to acknowledge the significant contributions of key individuals within the SSO sector and to assess Pakistan’s capabilities as a prominent global outsourcing hub.
The gathering saw participation from leading organizations like GSK, A F Ferguson & Co, Yousaf Adil, BDO Pakistan, The BPO, and ACCA’s leadership team, including Helen Brand, Assad Hameed Khan, Taimur Beiram Khan, and Ali Shan ul Haque. The evening commenced with a networking opportunity, followed by a welcome speech by Taimur Beiram Khan, who highlighted the crucial role of the SSO sector in fostering economic advancement and generating employment.
Assad H Khan emphasized Pakistan’s inherent strengths, such as its expanding digital infrastructure, proficient workforce, and cost-efficiency, which position it as a desirable outsourcing destination. A roundtable discussion explored strategies for improving Pakistan’s competitive edge, promoting innovation, and reinforcing collaborations within the industry. Participants exchanged perspectives on emerging trends, existing challenges, and potential prospects for the sector.
Helen Brand concluded the event by reiterating ACCA’s dedication to bolstering Pakistan’s economic progress through the development of talent equipped for the future and the promotion of international partnerships. She lauded Pakistan’s entrepreneurial drive and digital advancements, emphasizing its capacity to evolve into a valuable and globally competitive hub for business services.
