Pakistan Conducts Successful Training Launch of Abdali Weapon System

RAWALPINDI: On Saturday, Pakistan successfully carried out a training launch of the Abdali Weapon System, a surface-to-surface missile capable of reaching 450 kilometres. This exercise, named INDUS, was part of ongoing efforts to maintain operational readiness, according to the military’s media division.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the purpose of the launch was to guarantee the troops are fully prepared and to evaluate essential technical elements. These elements include the missile’s sophisticated navigation and its enhanced maneuvering capabilities.

The training launch was observed by the commander of the army strategic forces command, along with high-ranking officials from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, and scientists and engineers representing Pakistan’s strategic institutions, the ISPR detailed.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and other service chiefs conveyed their congratulations to the participating soldiers, scientists, and engineers.

The ISPR conveyed that they have full assurance in the operational readiness and the technical capabilities of Pakistan’s Strategic Forces. They are prepared to ensure a credible minimum deterrence and to defend national security against any potential aggression.

This launch occurs amidst heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, both nuclear-armed nations, following the Pahalgam incident in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Without offering substantiating evidence, the Indian government has accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack. Pakistan has firmly denied these accusations.
