The Government of Pakistan has officially announced an extended public holiday period for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. According to the notification from the Cabinet Division, the holidays are scheduled from March 30 (Sunday) to April 1 (Tuesday), 2025.
This three-day break allows citizens ample time to observe the religious festival and spend quality moments with their families.
Eid al-Fitr, marking the conclusion of Ramadan, is one of the most significant Islamic festivals, celebrated with prayers, feasts, and communal gatherings. The extended holiday period is expected to facilitate increased travel, as many individuals return to their hometowns to celebrate with loved ones. Consequently, transportation services may experience higher demand during this period.
In addition to the official holidays, the preceding weekend (March 29-30) and the following weekend (April 5-6) provide an opportunity for citizens to enjoy an extended break, depending on their work schedules. This arrangement underscores the government’s commitment to accommodating the cultural and religious practices of its populace.
