Bank Holiday Announced for Youm-e-Takbeer

All banks throughout the nation will be closed on Wednesday, May 28, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer.

The Government of Pakistan has declared this public holiday to commemorate the momentous nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, which solidified Pakistan’s position as a nuclear power.

A notification from the central bank stated, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on May 28, 2025 (Wednesday) due to the public holiday for Youm-e-Takbeer, as announced by the Government of Pakistan.”
