AJ Lee Return Rumors Intensify Ahead of WWE WrestlePalooza

Speculation regarding AJ Lee’s possible comeback to WWE has heightened, with numerous indications suggesting the former Divas Champion might return to the ring nearly a decade after her departure.

The rumors gained momentum following WWE Clash in Paris, where Becky Lynch’s low blow on CM Punk assisted Seth Rollins in retaining his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This scenario appears designed to establish a significant storyline for WWE WrestlePalooza, scheduled for September 20 in Indianapolis. This event will directly compete with AEW All Out.

The subsequent Monday Night Raw featured a heated exchange between Lynch and Punk, further igniting discussions about a potential mixed-tag team match. Online speculation quickly identified Punk’s spouse, AJ Lee, as a possible surprise participant.

By Tuesday night, sources suggested that Lee was actively preparing for a WWE return.

Adding to the speculation, WWE Shop’s X account responded to a fan’s query about AJ Lee merchandise with a hint at her “return to the ring.”

Although WWE’s primary account remained silent, the WWE Shop post was quietly removed on Wednesday morning, leading fans to believe her return is practically confirmed.

From 2012 to 2015, Lee was a major influence in WWE, contributing to increased attention for the women’s division during a period when female wrestlers were often marginalized.

She collaborated with prominent figures such as Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, and CM Punk. She also served as Raw General Manager before retiring from in-ring competition in 2015.

Her most recent WWE appearance was during WrestleMania 31 weekend, where she partnered with Paige to defeat The Bella Twins, followed by a six-woman tag match the following evening.

Beyond WWE, she briefly returned in 2021 as an executive producer for Women of Wrestling, a position she held until 2023.
