Arshad Nadeem’s Rehabilitation Progressing Well

Lahore: Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist in javelin, has commenced gentle workouts as part of his recovery after undergoing a calf procedure before the World Athletics Championship.

In a video message, Nadeem conveyed his progress toward full fitness, noting that his rehabilitation is advancing well, according to his physiotherapist.

He also asked the nation to pray for his swift recuperation and strong showing at the World Athletics Championship, which will be held in Japan in September.

“As you are aware, I sustained a calf injury and had a minor procedure. By the grace of God, it’s significantly improved, and my physio indicates that I’m regaining fitness,” Nadeem stated.

“The World Athletics Championship in Japan is approaching, and I am optimistic that with your support, I will perform admirably.

“I’ve also begun light throwing exercises, which feels fantastic, thanks to God Almighty.”

Last month, Arshad Nadeem had successful muscle surgery in Cambridge, UK, to address a calf muscle injury that caused him to withdraw from a recent international competition in Switzerland.

Medical sources revealed that doctors discovered some damage to Nadeem’s calf muscles, necessitating surgical intervention.

He is presently receiving care from Dr. Ali Bajwa in the United Kingdom.

His coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, and the medical staff are optimistic about his recovery, hoping he will soon be able to resume training.
