Bolan Castings Extends Production Suspension Amid Tractor Industry Slump
Bolan Castings Limited (BCL), a subsidiary of Millat Tractors Limited, has decided to prolong its temporary shutdown of production operations due to the persistent downturn affecting the tractor sector.
The publicly listed firm communicated this development in a statement submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.
The notification stated that given the ongoing slump in the tractor industry and the subsequent lack of incoming orders, Bolan Castings Limited will keep its manufacturing activities suspended until the situation sees improvement, which is anticipated shortly.
Last month, Bolan Castings Limited initially declared a temporary cessation of production.
The company stated that the conditions that led to the prior suspension are still in effect because there aren’t enough customer orders due to the ongoing decline in the tractor market.
Bolan Castings Limited, established in Pakistan in 1982, operates as a public limited company. Its primary business involves manufacturing and selling castings intended for tractors and automotive components.
According to the company’s recent financial results, net sales totaled Rs622.19 million during the third fiscal quarter, which concluded on March 31, 2025. This is a decrease from the Rs953.70 million recorded during the corresponding period of the prior year.
BCL reported an after-tax profit of Rs15.31 million for the third quarter, which is less than the Rs68.50 million PAT recorded for the same period last year.
