Interior Minister Naqvi Strengthens Cooperation with UAE

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently engaged in discussions with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the goal of reinforcing collaborative efforts in areas including security, counter-narcotics initiatives, and immigration protocols.

Naqvi received a warm welcome upon arrival at the UAE Ministry of Interior, which included an honorary guard ceremony. He was then acquainted with key ministry officials before participating in extensive dialogues focusing on pivotal concerns.

Visa Concerns Addressed

A central aspect of the discussions was the resolution of visa-related challenges encountered by Pakistani citizens, particularly those pertaining to work permits. Naqvi stated, “Our aim is to facilitate smoother entry for Pakistani citizens into the UAE. Easing visa regulations will offer considerable relief.”

The UAE Deputy Prime Minister pledged complete assistance in resolving Pakistan’s visa-related issues.

Enhanced Security and Immigration Cooperation

The ministers also deliberated on strengthening collaboration in security, addressing drug trafficking and smuggling, and controlling unlawful immigration.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to bolstering the longstanding and amicable ties between their nations and committed to broadening cooperation across diverse sectors.

Visit to Abu Dhabi Police Center

Naqvi also toured the advanced policing and operations center of Abu Dhabi Police, receiving briefings on the city’s sophisticated surveillance and crime prevention technologies. He commended the technological advancements and conveyed his eagerness to implement similar systems in Pakistan.

Naqvi concluded the meeting by describing the UAE-Pakistan relationship as a valuable asset and reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in all domains, notably security and public welfare.
