Fury and Usyk Set for Third Encounter on April 18, 2026

Tyson Fury, the British boxing star, has declared that Oleksandr Usyk possesses minimal punching strength, despite his two prior defeats against the Ukrainian athlete. This statement surfaced following recent announcements regarding Fury’s anticipated return to the ring.

Turki Alalshikh, a prominent boxing promoter from Saudi Arabia, revealed the plans for Fury to emerge from his retirement during the Riyadh Season 2026. The boxing world has been buzzing with anticipation ever since.

Adding fuel to the fire, Fury hinted at his comeback via social media, posting a photo shaking hands with Alalshikh, who also holds the position of chairman at Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, accompanied by the caption: “Let’s see what 2026 brings”.

Fury initially declared his retirement from boxing back in January 2025, a decision that came after he suffered a unanimous defeat to Usyk, a match that saw Usyk crowned as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.

Nonetheless, Fury is now aiming for a third showdown with Usyk and maintains that the Ukrainian lacks significant knockout power.

“I know he’s got no power, because if he has a man out cold on his feet, then hits him with another 10 free shots, how’s he going to hurt me? He’s had his shots, I took his best shots and smiled. Like Tupac said, now he’s about to feel the wrath of a menace,” Fury commented.

Even with two losses to Usyk, Fury insists that he was the true victor in their December rematch.

“My last fight was a clear victory. Anybody in boxing can see that,” Fury asserted.

“I want a fair fight, I don’t want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn’t [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it’s Tuesday it’s Tuesday.”

After confirming his return, Fury announced that the trilogy fight against Usyk is scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium.

The British fighter posted a promotional image on Instagram, stating: “April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.”
