Seth Rollins Injury Update Following Saturday Night’s Main Event
Following an apparent knee injury sustained at Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE Chief Content Officer (CCO) Triple H has provided an update on Seth Rollins’ condition.
During a co-main event match against LA Knight, Rollins was hurt when he landed awkwardly attempting a Lionsault from the second rope.
Rollins, visibly distressed, grabbed his leg and consulted with the referee, ringside doctor, and Paul Heyman in the corner. The match’s conclusion was quickly altered, enabling Knight to secure a swift victory.
Reports from several wrestling news sources indicate the injury is legitimate and could sideline Rollins for a considerable time.
Triple H addressed Rollins’ uncertain status at the Evolution 2 post-event press conference.
“I’m sure someone will inquire about Seth. It’s still a bit unclear. It doesn’t seem promising. We’re going to Birmingham tomorrow. He attended tonight because he wasn’t going to miss his wife’s [Becky Lynch] performance,” Triple H stated.
He added, “He was present and will be in Birmingham tomorrow with Dr. (Jeffrey) Dugas. We’ll conduct an MRI, hope for the best, and assess our next steps.”
Rollins was present backstage at Evolution 2 to support Becky Lynch, his wife, who successfully defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
According to Fightful, Rollins was seen using crutches, raising further concerns about the injury’s severity.
The incident is particularly concerning given Rollins’ history with his right knee. In 2015, he tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a match against Kane in Dublin, forcing him to relinquish the WWE Championship and miss WrestleMania 32.
If the injury is as severe as feared, Seth Rollins may be forced to miss this year’s SummerSlam, a significant setback during his current run.
An MRI is scheduled for July 14, which is expected to provide conclusive information regarding the injury’s seriousness and The Architect’s projected recovery period.
