Security Forces Neutralize Terrorists in Balochistan Operation

During an intelligence-led operation in Balochistan’s Turbat region, security forces successfully eliminated at least three terrorists, according to the military’s media division. The operation was executed based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of the militants.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that troops effectively engaged the insurgents, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The statement confirmed the recovery of arms and ammunition from the eliminated terrorists, further stating that these militants were actively involved in various actions against security personnel and the murder of innocent citizens.

A thorough sanitization operation was carried out to clear the area of any remaining terrorists. Pakistani security forces have affirmed their determination to eradicate terrorism from the nation.

Pakistan experienced a substantial rise in terrorist incidents in January 2025, with a 42% increase compared to the preceding month, according to data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS). The data indicated a total of 74 militant attacks across the country, leading to 91 deaths, including 35 security officials, 20 civilians, and 36 militants. Furthermore, 117 individuals were wounded, comprising 53 security forces personnel, 54 civilians, and 10 militants.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was the most severely affected province, followed by Balochistan. In KP’s settled areas, militants launched 27 attacks, causing 19 fatalities, including 11 security personnel, six civilians, and two militants. The tribal districts of KP (formerly FATA) saw 19 attacks, resulting in 46 deaths, among them 13 security personnel, eight civilians, and 25 militants.

Balochistan also witnessed a surge in militant activities, recording at least 24 attacks that resulted in 26 fatalities, including 11 security personnel, six civilians, and nine militants.
