Sam Jaeger Discusses The Handmaid’s Tale Series Finale
Sam Jaeger, known for his role in The Handmaid’s Tale, recently shared his thoughts on how the thriller series will conclude.
During a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, the actor openly spoke about the challenges the writers faced in crafting the series’ conclusion.
Reflecting on the final season’s ending, the Wolf Man actor commented, “This show is difficult. Certain seasons were tough to watch, and we recognized that. We aim to reward our dedicated fans this year, having taken them on a challenging journey. This season promises to be captivating and provide a satisfying resolution.”
The series, which is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, portrays a dystopian future where the United States has been overthrown by a totalitarian regime called Gilead. This government forces fertile women, known as handmaids, to bear children for the ruling class.
He further added, “You want to ensure a sense of completion. It’s important that viewers feel the story has reached a definitive end and that they are content, while still remaining true to the essence of the show.”
Jaeger, who portrays a representative of the U.S. government-in-exile, lauded the comedic talents of his fellow cast members, noting that they often used humor to alleviate tension on set.
Concluding his remarks, the 48-year-old actor stated, “We genuinely enjoy working on the show, and we navigate between filming intense scenes and finding moments of levity. I believe that a sense of humor is essential, or else what’s the point?”
The sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to premiere on April 8, 2025.
