Tragic Accident on Drigh Road Claims Lives

Early Tuesday morning, a woman and a child died, while two others were injured, in a devastating incident near Drigh Road in Karachi. A speeding dumper truck, laden with sand, overturned and crushed a car.

Rescue Efforts and Initial Findings

Following notification of the incident, emergency services promptly arrived at the location. They transported the deceased to the mortuary for necessary procedures and the injured to a medical facility for urgent care.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the car was completely flattened by the heavy truck, leading to the fatalities.

Eyewitness Account and Allegations

Shahid Hussain, representing a local aid organization, stated that the fatal collision took place around 3:15 a.m. He claimed it occurred during a dangerous race involving multiple dumper trucks.

Speaking to reporters at the scene, Hussain explained that one of the speeding dumpers lost control, resulting in it flipping over and crushing a family’s vehicle. “A mother and child died instantly, and two others were severely injured,” he reported.

A spokesperson voiced strong criticism regarding the reckless actions of dumper truck operators. They urged for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to avert similar tragedies in the future.
