Spain to Host 2027 UEFA Champions League Final

Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium in Spain will be the venue for the 2027 UEFA Champions League final. This announcement was made by Sports Minister Pilar Alegria on Tuesday.

The Metropolitano Stadium, which previously hosted the 2019 Champions League final where Liverpool triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur with a 2-0 victory, is preparing to welcome supporters on June 5, 2027, for a prominent European sporting event.

UEFA initially started a fresh bidding process for the 2027 final after Milan’s San Siro was withdrawn due to concerns regarding ongoing construction. The Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan, was another potential candidate. However, with the approval of Spain’s formal bid, the Metropolitano Stadium has been officially designated as the host location.

Rafael Louzán, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), conveyed his excitement about Spain’s capability to stage major European finals and expressed his aspirations for other Spanish cities, such as Seville, to potentially host future events.

Future Hosting Bids

Rafael stated, “With the backing of the Spanish Federation, why not put in a request for Seville to be the host of an upcoming European final? We intend to suggest this to UEFA, given that we possess the appropriate venue and city for such an event.”

Looking ahead, the 2025 UEFA Champions League final is scheduled for June 1 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

2025 Finalists

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is set to compete against Inter Milan in what promises to be a thrilling contest. Inter Milan secured their position following a semi-final victory against Barcelona, while PSG emerged victorious against Arsenal to advance to the final.

The 2025 final is anticipated to be an exciting showdown between two of Europe’s leading clubs. PSG is aiming to secure their inaugural Champions League title, while Inter Milan seeks to further enrich their storied legacy.
